The Democracy House Organization (DHO) conducted a workshop in Al-Muthanna Governorate as part of the Women’s Access to Justice Project. The project follows a comprehensive approach to support women in their pursuit of justice, aiming to enhance women’s status by informing them of their rights and entitlements as citizens.

The workshop was attended by MP Dr. Batoul Farouk, who emphasized the importance of women’s role in society and ways to ensure they obtain all their rights.

The Women’s Access to Justice Project is a national initiative implemented in partnership with the Swiss Embassy in Amman and funded by the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It seeks to reduce the vulnerability and suffering of marginalized women by building human capital, facilitating access to the legal system, and ensuring fair outcomes.

The project also includes legal empowerment courses for women, teaching them how to navigate Iraq’s judicial system and represent vulnerable women in court, while encouraging women to become more assertive in exercising their rights and interests.
