Community Initiatives Led by Voices of Change Participants with Support from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI)
As part of the Local Initiatives component of the Voices of Change project, funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) and implemented by the Democratic House Organization (DHO), several participants carried out community-based awareness activities to deliver the project’s messages directly to the public.
In Babylon Governorate, one participant led a local initiative by distributing and displaying awareness posters in public locations to promote women’s rights and legal protection.
In Latifiyah District, a group of participating women shared information learned during the workshops with colleagues in their workplaces, extending the project’s impact into professional environments.
In addition, one participant placed awareness posters in schools and public facilities, reaching a broad audience including parents, teachers, staff members, and passersby, rather than a specific age group.
These initiatives demonstrate the project’s effectiveness in enabling young women to transition from learning to action, and from training spaces to active community engagement.
