Democratic House Organization (DHO) and Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) Hold Workshops on Women’s Rights in Iraq
Iraqi society, along with its administrative and legal systems, continues to be largely dominated by men. As a result, vulnerable and marginalized women often face significant challenges when seeking access to justice and navigating the administrative system.
In response, the Democratic House Organization (DHO), in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) – Syria/Iraq Office, organized a series of training workshops in Baghdad, Karbala, and Diwaniyah during September and October 2016.
Workshop Objectives:
Raise women’s awareness of their legal and administrative rights.
Strengthen their ability to access justice and exercise their rights effectively.
Provide a platform for dialogue between women and policymakers.
Participants: The workshops were attended by several Members of the Iraqi Parliament, including MP Rezan Sheikh Dler, Rapporteur of the Parliamentary Committee on Women, Family, and Childhood, creating a direct channel for engagement between women and legislative actors advocating for their rights.
