Democracy, Human Rights, and Good Governance
This program aims to enhance human rights education and practices, promote the values, concepts, and practices of democracy, and strengthen good governance based on integrity and transparency. It also works to empower women's participation in all political, social, and economic aspects, and to foster a culture of dialogue and acceptance of others within the democratic process under the rule of law.
Main Achievements under this Program:
Significant contribution to national reconciliation through the active involvement of all ethnicities, minorities, and religious denominations of the Iraqi people as key actors in building social peace.
Sponsoring the signing of a Pact of Honor by young leaders in political parties and representatives of student movements to socially and politically support national reconciliation.
Increasing awareness of human rights and legal rights among various groups, including youth, women, university and high school students, male and female prisoners, community leaders, activists, and children’s caregivers.
Raising awareness among law enforcement bodies (police men and women, officers, prosecutors) as well as judges and lawyers on human rights practices during detention, investigation, and trials.
Contributing to the empowerment of young political leaders to enhance their participation in decision-making.
Active participation in alliances and networks through the "Women for Women Coalition" to combat violence against women.
