Women’s Access to Justice Conference in Cooperation with the Embassy of Switzerland in Amman

As part of the Women’s Access to Justice Program, the Democratic House Organization (DHO), in cooperation with the Embassy of Switzerland in Amman, organized a conference addressing the challenges facing women in accessing justice in Iraq.

Access to Justice: Exploring the legal mechanisms available for women to claim their rights.

Inheritance and Gender Discrimination: Highlighting legal and social barriers to women’s full inheritance rights.

Social and Cultural Obstacles: Addressing issues such as stigma and community pressures that prevent women from exercising their rights.

Many women lack awareness of their legal rights, while others are constrained by strict cultural norms.

Gender-based discrimination remains a significant legal and social barrier, particularly in inheritance cases.
