“Voices of Change” – Training Workshop in Latifiyah, Baghdad on Digital Leadership and Civic Engagement
As part of the Voices of Change project—funded by the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) and implemented by the Democratic House Organization (DHO)—a training workshop was held in Latifiyah District, Baghdad Governorate, bringing together young women to strengthen their skills in digital leadership and community advocacy.
Workshop Objectives
Increase legal awareness of women’s rights and available protection mechanisms under Iraqi law.
Develop participants’ abilities to use digital tools for organizing community campaigns and advocacy initiatives.
Promote civic participation by empowering young women to lead impactful community-based efforts.
Key Outcomes
Participants gained practical skills in planning digital campaigns and crafting effective advocacy messages.
Enhanced self-confidence and improved capacity to engage with local communities and decision-makers.
Expansion of the project’s network of young women leaders, fostering opportunities for future collaboration and initiatives.
This workshop is an important step toward the project’s overall goal of empowering 100 young women across Baghdad through specialized training that strengthens their leadership roles in society.
