In cooperation with the Canadian Embassy in Baghdad, the Democratic House Organization (DHO) is implementing a program to empower women and girls to obtain their legal rights without discrimination in society, through workshops and community mobilization campaigns.
The Democratic House Organization (DHO) launched a program to empower women and girls to obtain their legal rights without discrimination in society, in cooperation with the Canadian Embassy in Baghdad.

One of the workshops was implemented in cooperation with the Integrity Commission at the headquarters of the Iraqi Academy for Combating Corruption. The project aims to support the efforts of the State of Iraq to legally empower women by informing them of all their rights stipulated in the Constitution and legislation of Iraq, and in accordance with its international commitments.

The project adopts a comprehensive approach that combines collecting, simplifying, and reviewing legal material, then making it accessible to women in particular and society in general (including researchers and legislators). It also focuses on capacity building and training specialists and relevant authorities.

The workshop was attended by Mr. Andrew Turner, Chargé d’affaires of the Canadian Embassy in Iraq, and Dr. Ghada Al-Baldawi, Consultant at the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.
